Attention Summer/Fall 2008 Transfer Students!
Texas A&M University-Commerce Transfer Checklist & Packet
Following are the steps (beginning the semester prior to your transfer semester) to ensure a smooth transfer:
1. Request “official” transcripts from all colleges and/or universities that you have attended.
- Even if you are enrolled in courses this semester, you will need to get a transcript that reflects all completed courses at this time. If you continue to take courses at Eastfield or another college while attending Commerce/or if you are enrolled in courses currently, at the completion of each semester, you will need to send updated transcripts.
- When you are requesting Eastfield or DCCCD transcripts, on the transcript request form please check “I will pick up transcript” (meaning you want to pick them up from the Admissions office from Eastfield so that you can hand deliver them to our office) and check “Please sign and Seal”. THE TRANSCRIPT MUST BE SIGNED AND SEALED TO BE CONSIDERED “OFFICIAL”
- If you plan to have your transcripts mailed (from another college or university), please send them to the following address:
Eastfield College Teacher Center
Renda Richardson
3737 Motley Drive
Mesquite, TX 75150
- Bring all transcripts to Renda in the Teacher Center along with your Texas A&M-Commerce application (see step 2).
2. Complete the Texas A&M-Commerce Admissions Application (pick up from the Teacher Center).
- Return the completed application (front/back and signed) to Renda in the Teacher Center.
- Commerce does have a $25 application fee that might be added to your account later (don’t worry about it right now).
- We recommend that you complete the application process (application, transcripts and application fee) by the following dates:
Fall transfer – February
Spring transfer – October
3. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
- This application can be completed on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or it can be completed through the Eastfield College Financial Aid department in C-237 (recommended). The hours for the Eastfield Financial Aid office are:
Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM & Fridays, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

- Please include the following code for Texas A&M-Commerce:
